We mourn the loss of Conward (Conner) Baker Black, who passed away on February 26th, 2024 at his home in Indian Land, South Carolina. Conner was born in Horton, Kentucky, on September 5th, 1944, and spent his childhood in Kentucky before moving to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, as a teenager. He later settled in South Carolina. He worked in commercial construction and was a member of the Florida Carpenters and Lathers Unions.

Conner is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Chris Black, as well as his daughters and sons-in-law, Lori Richmond and Frederick C Richmond III, and Shelly M Griffin and Shawn Griffin, along with five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Black and Nanale Kirtley Black, as well as his siblings, John William Black, Thomas V Black, Edgar Lee Black, A.W Black, Bobby Charles Black, Alma Marie Alford, Betty Jamison Maupin, Joanne Westerfield, and Paula Boyd.

As per Conner's wishes, there will be no public service. Instead, his life will be celebrated privately with his family in time.
