C. P. 'Paul' Gay Paul Gay, of Sugar Camp, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, in York, SC. Paul was 88. He was born April 22, 1925 in Midville, Georgia, the son of the late Algie 'Bill' and Maude Gay. A veteran of World War II, Paul enlisted in the United States Navy and served from January, 1943 through April, 1946. After serving his country, he settled in Chicago, Illinois and married Ruth C. Olson of Chicago. Paul worked for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad as a switchman. In 1985 he and Ruthie retired to Sugar Camp, Wisconsin and lived on Indian Lake, a lifelong dream fulfilled. In Sugar Camp, Paul and Ruth enjoyed good times and great friends. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, friends and his family. He was a member of the Sugar Camp Lions and was a Master Mason belonging to Leyden Laurel Lodge No. 1057, Chicago, Illinois for 58 years. Mr. Gay was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ruthie, his parents, a sister, Louise Sutton, an infant brother, Matt, and son-in-law Rick Richards. He is survived by two sons - Bill (Vicky) Gay of Camp Verde, AZ; Gary (Cathie) Olson of Oak Forest, IL; a daughter - Gayle (Tony) Tuchek of York SC; and daughter-in-law - Beth Gay of Bartlett, IL; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Moraine Valley Church, 6300 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights, IL. Interment will be at Cedar Park Cemetery, 12540 S Halsted Street, Calumet Park, IL.
