Curtis Dale "Dale" Courtney

Mr. Curtis "Dale" Courtney, 71, surrounded by his loved ones, went to Heaven on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Rock Hill, SC, with Rev. Chris Florence officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service in Westminster's Ann Burns Sanford Parlor. Born in Charlotte, NC, Mr. Courtney was the son of the late Curtis and Virginia Courtney. He was employed by Pelton & Crane since 1976. He proudly served in the US Air Force Air National Guard from 1966 to 1972. He was an indispensable volunteer with United International Ministries. Our beloved Dale is remembered by his family and American and International friends as a good-hearted, compassionate man; a quiet man with a smile that could communicate so much; kind, gentle, caring, courageous, witty, loving, always there for and true to others. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia V. Courtney; his son Jonathan Dale Courtney and his wife Bee Nah Koh Courtney, their sons Maxwell Dale "Max" Courtney and Casey Koh Courtney; his son Jason Christopher Courtney and his wife Leah Rhyner Courtney, their son Charles Robert Courtney, daughters Kathryne Dale Courtney, Ashlyne Rebekah Courtney, and Rachel Elizabeth Courtney; and his son David Andrew Courtney and his wife Lacy Ashley Courtney, their daughter Elizabeth Ann "Ellie" Courtney, sons Noah Dale Courtney, Joel David "JD" Courtney, and Luke Alexander Courtney; and his sister Carol Moton. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Courtney. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Courtney's name to the Winthrop Women's Tennis Team, Winthrop University, Winthrop Foundation, Acknowledge to: Winthrop's Women's Tennis Team, 302 Tillman Hall, Rock Hill, SC 29733, and Hospice & Community Care, P.O.
