Dale Fred Hilliger

Mr. Dale Hilliger, age 62 passed away peacefully as the sun rose on Thursday July 14, 2016. Born in Elmhurst, Illinois to the late Bob and LaVerne Hilliger he was a beloved resident of Tega Cay for 29 years. Dale was a successful salesman, avid motorcycle rider, deliverer of dry humor and goofy smiles, and shared a warm spirit that made everyone feel comfortable and important. He shared a 34 year marriage with Terrie Hilliger where they loved and supported each other relentlessly. His greatest purpose and joy came from being a selfless, supportive father and his children feel honored to continue his legacy. Survivors include his wife Terrie Hilliger; daughter Katie Hilliger of Lexington, South Carolina; son Chad Hilliger and wife Chloe of Charlotte, NC; his beloved four-legged buddies; and his enormous family of friends. He is also survived by sister Roberta and family; brother Bruce; and brother Richard and family. Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill will host a memorial service on Saturday July 23, 2016 at 1 pm. The family looks forward to celebrating his life with attendees following the service. Rather than mourning his loss Dale would like you to celebrate him through making family your greatest priority, laughing with your friends, grabbing your favorite slice of Empire pizza, and adding a few minutes to your dog's morning walk.
