Daniel Irvin Allen

Daniel Irvin Allen passed away on September 4th, 2023, at the age of 77.

Born and raised in Ada, Ohio, Dan graduated from Ada High School, where he played several sports. He spent the summers working at a local factory where they produced NFL footballs. He earned his BA from Ohio Northern University. Later, he was drafted into the Army and served during the Vietnam War. After leaving service, he worked for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, retiring after 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Allen, father, George Allen, and sister, Georgia Justice.

Dan is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pamela Jo Allen, sons Devin Allen (Heather Allen) and Jeffrey Allen (Moriah Allen), and grandsons Cameron Allen and Braeden Allen.

A man to be proud of, Dan was a loving husband, a committed father, and an involved grandparent. He was active and loved to be so. In his thirties, Dan enjoyed running marathons. He coached his children's sports teams and regularly attended his grandsons' football and basketball games. Throughout his life, working in his yard, golfing, and fishing were much-enjoyed pastimes. If Dan was around, a joke or funny story was sure to be shared.
