Daniel Edward Cannady

March 7, 1942 — November 24, 2013

Daniel Edward Cannady, age 71 saw the sunrise from Heaven on November 24, 2013. He is now with his Lord and Savior, he is at peace at last. Dan was a strong, kind and courageous man. He bravely fought his illness for many years. Born March 17, 1942 in Glenridge, New Jersey, his parents were Nathan Daniel and Dorothy Cannady. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dianne Cannady and his sons, Mark Edward Cannady and William David Cannady. His mother Dorothy Cannady, a brother William Cannady and his sister Peg Cannady Connell. After high school graduation, Daniel joined the navy, and was involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was discharged in 1965, and moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he met his wife Dianne. They both attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. Son Mark, his wife Micah have two children, Kadie and Cole; son Bill , his wife Jen have two children, Danielle and Emma Grace. Dan and Dianne had retired to Bradenton, Florida in 2003 and lived in a retirement community for ten years. Last year they returned to their beloved Carolinas to be near their children and grandchildren. Dan , a fun loving person, never missed a chance to encourage someone, and give them a smile or tell them he loved them. In retirement, he loved to do woodworking and made numerous pieces of furniture for his grandchildren. The other great joy of his life was studying his Bible. A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM Wednesday, November, 27, 2013 at the Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC 29708. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM - 12:45 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Indian Land, SC.
