Darrell Leroy Bruce

ROCK HILL - Darrell Leroy Bruce, 59, of 573 Karen Drive died Friday, July 25, 2014 at WJB Dorn Veterans Hospital.

Mr. Bruce was born May 23, 1955, and was a son of Walter T. Bruce and Nancy Simmons Bruce Carter.

He is survived by his son, Damon Earle Bruce of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his sisters, Deborahlee Adams of Rock Hill and Cathy B. Frost of Great Falls; his brothers, Donnie Bruce of Huntersville, NC and John (Randy) Bruce of Rock Hill.

Mr. Bruce was a disabled veteran and proudly served his country from 1973-1976. He worked very hard in his later years to make up for the mistakes of his youth. He was a thoughtful brother, a loving father and a wonderful friend.

He was loved and held in the highest regards by his dearest friends and loving family Doug and Debbie Adams, Wayne and Angie Shelley, Ginger Cannon and Walt Wallace III, Walt R. Wallace, Mama Peggy Steele and his bestest friend Charlie Shelley.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints he knew he was headed for a better life and embraced the fullness of the Gospel.

A memorial service, visitation and a drum ceremony will be held at his home, 573 Karen Drive, Rock Hill on Saturday August 2, 2014, at 5 p.m.
