Darrell Ira Johnson

Darrell Ira Johnson, 58, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center. Born Friday, July 22, 1966, in Rock Hill, SC, he was the only child to the late Ira Moultrie Johnson, Jr and Jane Lyons Bailey. Darrell retired after 35 years working as a Dental Lab Technician. Darrell would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His knowledge of trains amazed even the most seasoned conductors. Darrell was also an avid fan of golf, the Gamecocks, and enjoyed spending time with his adopted family taking trips to the mountains and traveling any chance he got.

Darrell is survived by his soulmate of 15 years, Robbie Hunt; aunt and uncle: Brenda and Dickie Shore; and many more loving family and friends.

The family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m. with a service to be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, in the chapel of Bass Cauthen Funeral Home with Preacher James Hunt presiding. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park - Cherry Road.
