Darrell "Wayne" Kidd of Great Falls, SC, passed away on April 20, 2024 at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer.

Wayne was born on July 3, 1948 to the late William Floyd Kidd and Lila Carrouth Kidd.

Wayne was in the Airborne Division of the Army during the Vietnam War where he earned various medals for commendable service. Following his service, he worked at Westinghouse for 37 years and then retired to enjoy what he loved the most - hunting, fishing, planting, animal watching, and taking care of the beautiful land that God trusted him with. He was a kind, respectful, independent, old-school, Christian man who lived the life that he wanted to live, surrounded by close friends and family who adored and loved him. Even during a long and hard battle with cancer, Wayne stayed positive and grateful for the blessings and life that he had.

Wayne is preceded in death by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Helms (Fred), Lib Epps(Lamont), and Frances Neal (Carroll), one brother, and two sisters-in-law, Bill Kidd (June), and Jeannie Kidd (wife of brother Gary Kidd).

Wayne is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Carroll Kidd (Georgia) and Gary Kidd.

Visitation will be held at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC on April 25, 2024 from 11am - 1pm

The family will be holding a Private Celebration of Life at a later date.
