David Alan Buss

David Alan Buss, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the age of 76. His loving wife Debra was by his side.

Born on September 7, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio to Herbert and Florence Lewandoski Buss, Dave grew up to be a proud veteran, serving his country in the United States Air Force. His tactical mind and ability to take on any problem head-on served him well throughout his life.

From a very young age, Dave’s passion was flying.  He started out cutting grass at the local airport and then began building model airplanes as a hobby.  He achieved obtaining his  private pilot license which he used to fly his own Cessna 172.  He would take up friends and family to experience the magnificent views.

When he wasn't tinkering with his beloved motorcycles and classic cars, Dave could be found out on the water, whether it was skiing, boating on the lake, or enjoying the ocean waves. As long as his family was with him, he was happy.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 55 years, Debra "Debby" Buss; daughters Carrie Hebebrand and her husband Ray, and Melanie Hall and her husband Brandon; and his adoring grandchildren Jared, Kaley, McKenna, Winston and Arthur. Dave also leaves behind many more family members and friends who will miss his quick wit, generous spirit, and unconditional love.

Dave’s legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family will live on in our hearts forever.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dave's remarkable life at a visitation at 11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Bass Cauthen Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens following the service.  Lunch will be served afterwards at the Hebebrand house.
