David Edward Choate

David Edward Choate, 45, died Friday, December 29, 2017, at Duke University Hospital, Durham, North Carolina.

A native of Fort Mill SC, David was the son of Gloria Torres Choate and the late Frederick Ranger Choate. He graduated from the College of Charleston where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega "ATO" fraternity, with a degree in Sociology and minor in Philosophy. David worked in Denver, NC, as Sales Manager at Lake Norman Exotics.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn Carroll Choate and his daughters, Harvey Ellen and Charlotte Choate of Fort Mill; sister, Suzi Komarek of Boulder, Co; sister Patti Coherd and husband David of Atlanta, GA; brother Jerry Choate and wife Mary Louise of Birmingham AL; sister Michelle Choate of Rock Hill, SC; and many nieces and nephews and grand niece and grand nephew.

David was a devoted father, husband and friend to many. David loved the outdoors, spending time on the water, the Carolina Gamecocks, and cooking for and entertaining friends and family.
David had a kind, fun living, generous spirt who lived and enjoyed life to the fullest.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1 pm at Unity Presbyterian Church in Fort Mill, SC, with the Rev. Jeannie Bickett officiating. A gathering in the fellowship hall will immediately follow.
