David Lee Davenport, Jr.

October 6, 1954 — December 22, 2018

Mr. David Lee Davenport, Jr., 64, died Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Memorial services will be 2 – 4 pm Sunday, December 30, 2018, at the VFW, 732 W. Main Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

A native of Williamsport, PA Mr. Davenport was a son of Dorothy Davenport and the late David Lee Davenport, Sr. He was a retired Navy Chief after 20 years of service to his country. He was a Master Mason, member of John J. Kestly Lodge #60, Grand Loge National Francaise. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 34 Rock Hill, a life member of LaSociete Des 40 Hommes Et 8 Cheyvaux Voiture 1052, and a life member of the VFW Post 2889 Rock Hill and member of Military Order of the Cooties of the US. He was a driver and instructor for Schneider National Carriers and he was also an instructor at York Tech for truck drivers.

Surviving in addition to his mother; are his wife, Linda Davenport; special friend, Mary Adams; son, Dustin Davenport of Lake Tawakoma, TX; four daughters, Candice Cahalan of Beckett, MA, Jannie Williams of Parker, FL, Deborah Raisbek of Panama City, FL, and Toni Henderson of Meridian, MS; two sisters, Karen Wright of Rochester, NY, and Sheila Welch of Simi Valley, CA; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Davenport.

Memorial donation may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 (Memo Line: Dave Davenport).
