Rock Hill - Mr. Wesley David Hill, 64, of 2138 Ridgecrest Road, died Friday, May 18, 2012, at his home.
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church with Revs. Tony Slawson and Reggie Hopkins officiating. The family will receive friends 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Born in York County, Mr. Hill was a son of the late Clyde Wesley and Fronie McCoy Hill. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. While in service he earned the following medals: Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Parachutists Badge, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Combat Medical Badge. He worked as a machinist and also taught at York Technical College. He retired from Westinghouse Siemens.
Surviving are his wife, Edna Pope Hill; two sons, David Hill and Clyde Hill; one step-son, Michael Todd Love and his wife, Stephanie; two step-daughters, Lisa Taylor and Cindy Baroth and her husband, Walt; one brother, Rodger Wayne Hill; three sisters, Doris Childers and her husband, Terry and Virginia McCurry and her husband, Gene and Iris Ayers and her husband, Wayne; and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Jamie Love, and sister, Carolyn Jones and her husband, Bobby Jones and a sister-in-law, Elaine Hill.
