David Ludlam

May 28, 1930 — February 1, 2012

Mr. Stanley David Ludlam, 81, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at his home. A native of Conway, David was a son of the late Joseph Stanley and Sudie Todd Ludlam. Born May 28, 1930 he was a truck driver and farmer for most of his life, a member of the Moose Lodge and of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Lucille Bullard Ludlam; two brothers Harry and Herman Ludlam; and one sister Mary Sue Ludlam Brown all of Horry County. Surviving are three daughters Judy Nunn and husband John of Rock Hill, Luci Reeves of Springdale, Arkansas, Doris Chitwood and husband Larry of Rock Hill; one son Sam Ludlam and wife Cynthia of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren John Larry Collins, Jr., Shawn Reeves, Ryan Reeves, Heather Chitwood, Joseph Chitwood, Sammy Ludlam, Jr., Amber Ludlam, Joshua Ludlam and Caitlin Simmons; and twelve great-grandchilden. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00pm on Friday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, and at other times at David's home. A service to celebrate the life of David will be held Saturday at 11:00am in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Lambert and Rev. Bob Lang officiating. Interment will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols, SC at 4:00pm on Saturday. Memorials in honor of David may be made to Agape Hospice, 1053 Center Street, West Columbia, SC 29169, Attn: Sherrie McLamb.
