David Corbett O'Keef, Jr

May 22, 1943 — March 6, 2021

David Corbett O'Keef, Jr., 77, passed away on March 6th, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wilmington, NC on May 22nd, 1943. Son of the late David C. O’Keef, Sr. and Jean Creech O’Keef, and beloved husband of Jandre Betterton O’Keef. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheri O’Keef Elkins.

David graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1961 and went on to graduate from NC State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married his wife of 55 years on April 17th,1965. David spent his career traveling the world from Germany, Trinidad, Venezuela and across the continental US. He was a lover of cars, planes and boats. He received his pilot’s license at a very young age. When David was not spending time with his family, you could find him washing, waxing or pinstriping a car and cleaning his boat. David loved all sports, football, baseball and NASCAR. He never met a stranger and always put others before himself. David was a man who wanted to know all about YOU no matter what he had going on. You always had his undivided attention. David was a member of Carolinas Cornerstone and enjoyed spending his mornings reading his bible. David was witty, funny and kept you laughing. He loved GOD, life, helping people, and spending time with his family.

A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. David is survived by his wife Jandre of Tega Cay, SC; sister, Dorothy O'Keef Beard and husband Larry of Marietta, GA; and two children, Diedre O'Keef Henry and husband Mark of Hickory, NC, Kyann O'Keef of Charlotte, NC, and four grandchildren, Christian, David, Charlotte and Ella.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 13th at 12:00 pm  at Carolinas Cornerstone located at:

1790 Gardendale Rd

Fort Mill, SC 29708

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to the American Stroke Association.
