David Ratteree, Sr.

David Freedom "Buck" Ratterree, Sr. 83 of 5000 Roddey Rd. passed away Monday January 18, 2010 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. A native of Rock Hill. Mr Ratterree was born October 24, 1926. A son of the late Daniel Everette and Lina Outen Ratterree. He was a self-employed contractor, life member of the American Legion Frank Roach Post 34 and VFW 2889 in Rock Hill. He was member of Roddey Baptist Church and a WWII Army veteran having served in South Pacific. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Nancy Giles Ratterree and a daughter Janet Ratterree Hearn. Surviving are one son David F. Ratterree, Jr. of Rock Hill, a brother Bobby L. Ratterree of Rock Hill, a sister Anna R. McKee of Catawba, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, best friend and companion Eunice Deal, a special niece Pat McKee Ferrell, a special nephew Darrell McKee as well as his other nieces and nephews that loved him very much. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ratterree will be held Thursday 11:00 am at Roddey Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Helms officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park on South Cherry Rd. with full military honors by the American Legion Frank Roach Post 34.
