David Richard Wilson

David Richard Wilson passed away peacefully in York, SC on August 13th,

2023. He was holding hands with his wife Rita and his children, lan and Desiree Wilson in the comforts of his home.

David was born August 17, 1955 in Muskegon, Michigan to parents, Richard and Dolores Wilson. In the early 1960's the family moved to Switzerland due to his father's work with Brunswick. They returned to the United States in 1965. David started working at age 14 at his father's company, Tandem Enterprises. After Tandem, he worked for many other manufacturing companies, holding a variety of positions.

Studying at night, David got his degrees in Business and Law. Starting in Purchasing at Rohr, he worked his way to being an Associate General Counsel for United Technologies. He also earned the honor to be admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar.

In 1977, David married Rita, the love of his life. During his 46 wonderful years of marriage, he raised and cared for his two children, Out of everything, he was most proud of his accomplishments as a father. He loved traveling the world with his children and teaching them along the way about the joys of camping, family time, life lessons and so much more.

When they were not traveling in their camper, they were rebuilding houses with Dave Morris, bowling, boating and spending time with their closest family and friends.

David treasured his time with all of his family and always said that family was one of the most impactful and important things in life. Many friends and family have undoubtably been greatly impacted by his presence in their life.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Logan David Monagas and Michael James Monagas. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Megan Cooper and son-in-law, Guy Monagas, sisters, Debbi Sturch and Rachelle Wilson, mother-in-law Katie, his closest friend David Morris, and other aunts, favorite nephews and nieces, cousins and other assorted family and many caring friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11am at Rawlinson Road Baptist Church
