Fort Mill

Fort Mill – David Lynn Shaw, 58, died Friday, October 1, 2021, at Atrium Health Pineville.

A memorial service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Whitesell Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends following the service.

A native of Charlotte, NC, David was a son of Joyce Wilson Warnstaff and the late Larry Heath Shaw.  He will be remembered as a beautiful person who was compassionate towards all people.  He loved to play music and listen to music.  His favorite music was Rock and Rock and the Gather Vocal Band.  One of his favorite memories was going to a tent revival with his mother where they heard the Gather Vocal Band.  His mother was always one of his best friends and everything good thing in David came from his mother.   He was a lead singer in a band until he suffered with muscle dystrophy.  Even after his muscle dystrophy he continued to sing with his sister.    He adored his best friend, brother, and caregiver, Jason Wallace.  David also loved and admired his beautiful friends from the Westside of Charlotte and he shared many stories of his time with them.  He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a follower of Christ for many years and he longed for the day he would be healed in heaven.

Surviving in addition to his mother; two brothers, Terry Lee Shaw (Carolyn Bullard), and Phillip Chance Shaw (Jessica Piper); two sisters, Arden Shaw Hilton, and Melony Shaw Stillwell (Jason Wallace); seven nieces Emily, Heather, Jessica, Brandy, Stasi, Lilly, and Allie; six nephews, Jaydan, Trevor, Tristen, Cody, Dylan, and Sam; cousins, Chris, Eddie, Ted, Joy, and Michelle.  Thanks to all our friends, Joseph Stillwell, Martha Bowbly, Janet and Neil Cannon, Derek Ritch, and Cassandra Wallace.
