Dawn Michelle (Shelly) Burton

Dawn Michelle Burton (Shelly), was born in Alexandria, Virginia and was raised in nearby Burke and Springfield, Virginia.  She also attended school until high school graduation in the area.  After graduation she began pursuing a career in child care.  She worked at a daycare facility and taught at a local private school.  She was very passionate in this field and received many accolades from parents and staff.

Life had other plans and pulled her away from this passion when she relocated with her parents to Tega Cay, South Carolina.  She loved the area and being near the lake.

Unfortunately, she lost her battle with mental health and drug addiction and was taken suddenly from this world.  She is predeceased by her parents Mick and Joan Burton.  She often said her father was her best friend, and his passing only increased her struggles.  Dawn is survived by her two brothers, Michael and David.  She was also survived by her Uncle John and Uncle Ron and their families.  She will be remembered for her love of soccer and the Washington Commanders.
