Delano Boyce Covington Jr., "Dell", of Fort Mill, SC and formerly of Rock Hill, SC, passed away on January 5, 2020 at the age of 56. Dell was born on January 6, 1963 in Rock Hill, SC, son of the late Delano Boyce Covington and Louise Furr Covington.
Dell is survived by his only daughter, Amber Covington Ingram, along with her husband, Derek, grandson Beau, and soon-to-be granddaughter.
One of his greatest joys in life was his family. Dell was always bragging on them and telling anyone who would listen about the grand plans he had in store for them upon his retirement. He was extremely proud of Amber and always told Derek he couldn't have had a better man to call his son-in-law. One of his favorite things was being called "Papa". He could not wait for Beau to grow up so they could spend more time together outdoors and he was thrilled to find out he was going to be Papa to a granddaughter. If you ever saw Dell, you likely saw he had one of his best friends with him, Bailey, his beloved dog.
Dell loved the outdoors and also the gulf beaches of Florida, where he often visited with friends.
A celebration with family and close friends will be held at a later time.
