Delitha Vivian Gilbert

Delitha Vivian Gilbert, 96, of Rock Hill, SC passed away Friday, September 20, 2013. Born in Bloomfield, MO, Mrs. Gilbert was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Bashabay Davis. Vivian loved her family dearly and was always there for them. She gave selflessly in any way she could to make their lives easier. A woman of great faith, she prayed tirelessly for each and every member of her family. She had a smile for everyone. Vivian was one of God's great encouragers, always seeing the best in all situations. She was an inspiration to not only her family but to all who knew her. Vivian retired from General Motors. She attended Shield of Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Gilbert. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Brinkman (William) of Rock Hill, SC and Doris Plind (Clifford) of Mesa, AZ; 7 grandchildren, Raquel Reiter (Arvid) of Rock Hill, SC, Kirk Brinkman (Becky) of Ann Arbor, MI, Debbie Lynne Costello (Joseph) of Clover, SC, Leanne Cutler, Don Cutler (Diane), Ranae Cutler, and Aaron Cutler; 25 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Gilbert will be held 2pm Thursday, September 26, 2013 in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 12-2pm.
