Delsie Griffin Myers

Delsie Griffin Myers, of Fort Mill, S.C. passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born October 31, 1945, in Fort Mill, S.C., daughter of the late Alex Sutton Griffin and Willie Silvers Griffin.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and most recently, great-grandmother.

Delsie graduated from Fort Mill High School in 1964 and shortly after married the love of her life, Kenneth “Ray” Myers.  Delsie and Ray raised three children that she loved dearly.

Delsie’s love for her family and those around her led her to play an important role in many people's lives.  She was frequently the “room mom” in her children’s classrooms and even a Cub Scout Leader when her boys were young.  In her earlier years, Delsie was a member of the Fort Mill Lady Golfer’s Association, developing many close friendships.

Delsie loved the beach, beach music and both dancing and watching the Carolina Shag.  She was a prominent member of the Lake Wylie Shag Club for nearly thirty years, and attended SOS in North Myrtle Beach twice a year, making many friends across the United States who shared her passion for the Shag.

She leaves a legacy to be cherished by those who love her, her husband of 59 years, Kenneth Ray Myers Sr.; children, Kenneth Ray Myers Jr. and wife Susanne of Clemson, S.C., Timothy Myers and wife Anne of Fort Mill, S.C. and Kimberly Myers Dove and husband Bradley of Fort Mill, S.C.; grandchildren, Matthew, Alex, Amanda, Elizabeth, Keturah(Hunter), Britana, Brynn, Emery, Paisley and Clara; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Veda; siblings Alex Griffin Jr. (Karen) of Bardwell, K.Y., James Griffin of Fort Mill, S.C., Carolyn Ashworth (Ken) of Fort Mill, S.C., and Cynthia Ludlam (Sam) of Rock Hill, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held for Delsie from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place, Fort Mill, S.C. 29708.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 1691 Hwy 160 West, Fort Mill, S.C. 29708 with burial following the service.
