DENNIS PATRICK RUNDE

TEGA CAY, SC - Dennis Runde passed away on May 17, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care,
after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Dennis was born December 12, 1970 in Mahopac, NY, and when he was 1 1/2 years old,
he moved with his parents and brothers to Tega Cay. A 1989 graduate of Fort Mill High School,
he was the comptroller of Medfax Corporation in Fort Mill until 2000. In 2002, he became the
manager of the newly opened Gridiron Restaurant near Rivergate Shopping Center in Charlotte.
For the last eight years he worked for The Bevinco Group of Charlotte.
He loved all spectator sports, and especially enjoyed playing golf. He was a diehard
Panthers and Atlanta Braves fan. Most of all, he valued his family and his many friends.
Everyone appreciated his wry sense of humor, which he kept until the very end.
Dennis was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard & Mary Runde,
maternal grandparents, John & Mildred Johanson, and two uncles, Dick Runde and John
Sheehan. Dennis is survived by his parents, Bob & Ceil Runde of Tega Cay, his brothers, David
(Mary) Runde of Charlotte, Rob (Michele) Runde of Belmont, and Donald Runde of Rock Hill, as
well as his aunts, Muriel Sheehan of Yonkers, NY, and Dorothea Runde of Greensboro, NC, and
his uncle Keith Johanson (Carol) of Fort Mill, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins,
godchildren and friends.
Visitation will be at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC, on
Monday, May 22, from 6-8 P.M. Funeral will be held 11A.M. Tuesday, May 23, at St. Anne
Catholic Church, 1694 Bird Street, Rock Hill, SC, with Fr. John Giuliani of
