Diane Marie Babinec

Diane Marie Babinec, 73, of Tega Cay, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at CMC in Charlotte. She was born May 21, 1945 in Utica, NY, daughter of the late Millard and Elizabeth Doxie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Doxie.

Diane was an avid Carolina Panthers fan. She was the owner and operator of her own hair salon in New York. Energetic and outgoing by nature, her infectious personality will forever be remembered. She enjoyed walking and taking rides on the boat. Most important to her was her precious family and she always ensured they were always first in her life.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, Gary Babinec; sons, Robert Poppke and wife, Christine of Denver, CO and John Babinec and fiancé, Suzanne of Winter Springs, FL; daughters, Samantha Mazza and husband, Joe of Gold Canyon, AZ, Darsel Excell and husband, Tom of Deerfield, NY and Rhonda Danella and husband, Guy of New Hartford, NY; the adored grandmother to Nadia, Isaiah, Anthony, Michael, Alexis, Ryan and Grady; brother, Kevin Doxie and wife, Ann of CO; sisters, Lynnette VanSlyke of Utica, NY and Kari Johnson and husband, Curt of Coldbrook, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, November 30, 2018 at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home until 8:00 PM.

Diane actively gave to numerous charities and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any Veteran's organization, the Humane Society or the Salvation Army in her memory.
