Dixie Jennings, 71 of Indian Land, SC passed away peacefully at her home, Sunday, September 4, 2022 after a long battle with cancer.  She was born in Amberg, Wisconsin May 29, 1951.  She married the love of her life, James “Bobby” Jennings, December 24, 1967.

Dixie is survived by her daughter, Tammy Therrell and her son-in-law, Jimmy Therrell of Fort Mill. Her sisters, Kathy Flynn of Fort Mill, Linda Henrichs of Wisconsin, Mary Henrichs (Tommy) of Tennessee. Her brothers, Leonard Gromoske (CathyJo)of New York and Mike Leonhardt of North Carolina , her 2 brothers-in-law -Jerry St.Clair  and Reid Perkins both of Indian Land , her sister- in-law-Julie Leonhardt of Wisconsin and  her 4 grandchildren, Justin Therrell, Jake Therrell, Mary Jennings, Jessie Jennings and many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband- James “ Bobby” Jennings, her son- James “Jammy” Jennings, her mother-Helen Gromoske, her father- Alex Leonhardt, her step-father-Leonard Gromoske, Her sister-Diane Craft, her brothers- Stanley “Butch” Leonhardt, Richard Leonhardt and her Furbaby-AJ.

Dixie worked in textile at Springs industries, then as a seamstress, and the job that brought her the most joy was babysitting. She was “Me-me” to so many!

She enjoyed working in her yard and working jigsaw puzzles. She loved her family and her church so much.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, September 9, 2022 at 3 pm at Trinity Baptist Church, 1519 Steel Hill Road, Lancaster, SC  29720. Visitation will follow the service.

The family will receive friends at other times at her daughter’s home at 829 Savannah Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC  29715.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund (preschool), 1519 Steel Hill Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.

Although our hearts are broken and we will miss her, we rejoice knowing she is healed and she is at the feet of Jesus.
