Dolores Steele Player

Catawba – Mrs. Dolores Steele Player, 79, died Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Piedmont Medical Center.

Visitation for Mrs. Player will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, at 830 North Jones Avenue in Rock Hill, on Friday January 11, 2019 at 1:00 PM and the Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM.

A native of York County, Mrs. Player was a daughter of the late John Hampton Steele and Enous Knight Steele. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved fishing and was an outstanding bream fisherman. She always had cats and loved them dearly.

Surviving are five children, Debra Jo Player-Greene, Billy Joe Player, Jr. (Ora Lee), Enous Player Chafin (Steve), Steven Player (Carol), and Marc Player; a brother, Larry Steele; a sister, Virginia Spears; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny C Steele and a sister, Carol Walters.

The family would like to thank Tish Rushing and Crescent Hospice for all of their care during Mrs. Player's illness.
