Born on January 28, 1940, to Italian immigrants, Dominick E. Chirico passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019. Mr. Chirico served his country with honor in the United States Air Force as a navigator and retired from military service at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 1988.
Mr. Chirico enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. He owned an ice cream parlor for nearly 20 years, afterward working as a restaurant manager for Ryan's Steakhouses.
The youngest of five children, Mr. Chirico is predeceased by his parents, Dominick and Mary Chirico; siblings, Sarah, Josephine, Dominica and Joseph; and granddaughter, Madeline. He is survived by his wife, Joan Wacek Chirico; four children, Karen and husband, David, Stephen and wife, Anne, Martin and wife, Deva and Robert and wife, Jennifer; four grandchildren, Stephen, Jr. and wife, Esther, Matthew, Brian, and Dominick; and one great-granddaughter, Talia.
The funeral will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 22, 2019 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road E., Fort Mill, SC 29715. A reception will follow at the Four Seasons Community Club House on Gold Hill Road.
