Donald Eugene Boatwright

June 8, 1943 — October 29, 2013

Don was former fire chief and lifetime member of the Pineville Fire Department for 51 years. He retired from the Town of Pineville where he continued to work daily because he loved the town and everyone he worked with. He was a proud member of the James K. Polk Masonic Lodge #759 and Oasis Shrine. He worked for Public Works Equipment & Supply, Town of Matthews, Carowinds and Dieguard Racing. Don never met a stranger. Everywhere he went he knew someone. Often awakening even before dawn he was out the door to do something for someone else. Helping others was his life.
