Donald Mcclain Jackson

Donald McClain Jackson, 81, of Rock Hill, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012 at his residence. A native of York, SC, Mr. Jackson was born March 19, 1931 a son of the late David McClain and Frances Hogue Jackson. He was retired from the City of Rock Hill after 22 years of service as a recorder. Mr. Jackson was member of Oakland Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen S. Jackson; a son Ronald D. Jackson; and a sister Mary Elizabeth McKee. Surviving are his daughter Terri J. Nelson of Rock Hill; daughter-in-law Donna B. Jackson of Livingston,TX; two grandsons Chris S. Nelson of Rock Hill and James David Jackson of New York, NY; two sisters Bettie J. Westerlund of Rock Hill and Rebecca J. Roberson of Aiken, SC; a brother James J. Jackson of Aiken, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30pm Tuesday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jackson will be held Wednesday at 11:00am at Grandview Memorial Park-Hollis Lakes with Dr. Robert D. Shrum officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
