Donald Odell Ledford 85 of Clover, SC went home to be with the Lord and his Beloved Wife on February 3, 2020. Mildred wanted him home for their 67th wedding anniversary on February 7, 2020 and he made it!
Donald was retired from Cannon Mills in York, SC where he was employed for over 30 years. He was a faithful member and deacon of Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Blacksburg SC.
Donald is survived by his 8 children Marcene Sexton (Bubba) of York, SC, Danny Ledford of Clover, SC, Max Ledford (Tammy) of Clover, SC, Dennis Ledford (Renee) of Kinston, NC, Gail Simpson (Dave) of Great Falls, SC, Marilyn Dover (Ron Aquino) of Clover, SC, Melody Pruitt (Josh) of York, SC, Michelle Simpson (Andy) of Rock Hill. Brother Walt Ledford (Sandra) of Clover, SC. Sister Carolyn Odom (Lester) of Gastonia, NC. 19 Grandchildren, numerous Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
He is preceded in death by his Wife Mildred Ledford. Parents Adam Ledford and Pauline Hall Ledford. Brother Harold Ledford and Sister Dorothy Rowland. Granddaughter Stephanie Dover.
He will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the Lord. He would always try to get the kids and grandchildren up for Sunday Morning Church and if they refused, he would use his famous phrase "Dadgummit".
A service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 2 pm at Bright Light Freewill Baptist Church in York, SC. The burial will follow the service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will take place on Wednesday. February 5, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Bass Cauthen Funeral Home in Rock Hill, SC.
The family would like to thank Donald's Son Max Ledford and Daughter in Law Tammy Ledford, who supported and cared for him for over 10 years. Also son Danny Ledford, his personal Uber for making sure Donald got where he needed to be and Providence Hospice for their care and support.
