Donald Miller, 70, was born in Charlotte, NC on April 6, 1943. He resided many places but settled in Fort Mill, SC. He was a one of a kind dad, Paw-Paw, brother, son, man. He would do anything for anyone; for an unknown stranger to a stray animal, which he loved animals. He loved nature and the country life. He also really loved to dance any chance he could. He is a veteran that served in the US Navy active duty from 1961 to 1965 then reserves to 1968. He had a career as a machinist, he loved making things. If there was anything that needed to be fixed from a lawnmower to changing a watch battery he was the man on the job. He had a wonderful sense of humor which only he could get by with. Everyone knew that is Donnie for you. Donnie was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Pamela Miller; his father, Grady Miller Sr.; his mother, Louise Miller; his sisters, Barbara Cook and Laura Beerman; his brother, Robert Miller Sr.; and his daughter, Donna Haney. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Polk and Leslie Acosta of Colorado; and Cynthia Miller of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Emily Haney of Daytona, FL; Kortnie Polk, Gabby Miller, Nyasha Miller, Phillip Santoro, and D'Andre Derr of Charlotte, NC; and Brandon Rose of Alaska; sister, Mary (Don) Dempsey of Travelers Rest, SC; sister, Pat (Kenny) Ervin of Franklin, NC; and brother, Grady (Amelia) Miller Jr. of York, SC; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church 323 North Congress St. York, SC 29745 In Lieu of flowers: donations to York County Humane Society or Regency Hospice at 420 South Herlong Ave. Suite 104 Rock Hill, SC 29732.
