Donald Mintz was born on August 30, 1965 to Willie Frances Young. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Robert L. Young and Roy Mintz.

Donald, a true "Jack of all Trades", attended Rock Hill schools. He mastered the art of remodeling homes, turning it into his livelihood. His exceptional drawing skills and incredible attention to detail showcased his talent as an artist. With a larger-than-life personality, his passion for music was undeniable—if there was a microphone, he would find it. As a DJ at various community events, he earned the affectionate nicknames "Jack Swang" and "Sonic Man."

Donald's vibrant energy, creativity, and unique charm touched everyone he met. He was a dedicated caretaker and provider, always ready to help both the young and the old. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Donald never met a stranger and was always willing to give you the shirt off his back. Donald was a beloved son, brother, father, friend and so much more, and will be remembered for his wonderful smile that could light up a room and an unforgettable laugh that brought joy to everyone in his prescence.

His legacy of love, generosity, and joy will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories is his mother, Willie Frances Young; his two daughters, Markeisha Barnette (Tyrone and Zoilynn) of Charlotte, NC, Tamisha Mackey of Winston-Salem, NC; one son, Anthony Marks of Prescott, AR; his siblings, Angela Mintz-Williams (Frank) of Lancaster, SC, Cureston Brice of Fayetteville, NC, Benita Young of Atlanta, GA and Sabrina Wherry (Napolean) of Rock Hill, SC, Daniel Jones of Columbia, SC, Meshach Johnson, Roderick Hinton, Anthony Hinton, Orlando Eason all of Rock Hill, SC ; six grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A very special great-great aunt, Ms. Jessie Hoyles; his dedicated caretakers, Laquita Brock (her son Terrell) and Jackie McCollough; and his lifetime love, Miranda Long.

A visitation will be held at Bass Cauthen Funeral Home at 12:00 on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 and a service at 1:00. The burial will follow at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
