Doris Fields Bell

Fort Mill - Mrs. Doris Fields Bell, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 after a brief illness.

The family will receive friends 2:00 pm Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Whitesell Funeral Home, Rock Hill, SC. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm with Pastor Debbie Dyches officiating. There will be a private family burial.

Doris was a daughter of the late Weymon Harold Fields and Carrie Elizabeth McCoy Fields. She was born September 5, 1931. She had two brothers, Billy and Bobby Fields; and five sisters, Janie (Tootsie), Bertie Lou, Gail, Dianne, and Vicky. She was married to the late Edward Bell, who left us at the young age of 49. They had three children, Carol Bell Hill (Jim), Kathy Bell Clippinger (Steve) and Steve Bell. Mrs. Bell had seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by her dog, Rocky.

Mrs. Bell worked many years for Springs Industries, White Plant, as a weaver and an instructor. After leaving Springs she had several other occupations. She worked at Wamsutta Store, a school cafeteria, and as a security guard at Piedmont Medical Center.

The family would like to thank Compass Post Acute Care and Patriot Hospice group in Conway, SC for taking wonderful care of our mother.
