Dorita May Pluchino

April 30, 1945 — January 18, 2021

Dorita May Pluchino, 75, of Indian Land, SC and formerly of Milford, CT, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, January 18, 2021. She was born April 30th 1945 in Keene, NH, Daughter of the late Charles Pierce and Margaret Pierce.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Scheer.

Most important to her was her family and she will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Always friendly and outgoing, Dorita could strike up a conversation with anyone putting them at ease. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, pool aerobics, and luncheons with her close friends. She loved spending time with her family and walking her dog Bella. Dorita was an avid reader and could always be found with her nose in a book and her dog in her lap. She was creative and artistic and enjoyed doing crafts and decorating her home.

She leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by her survivors, her husband of 56 years, John C. Pluchino of Indian Land, SC; sons, John C, Pluchino Jr of Madison, CT, and Bryan M, Pluchino, of Shelton, CT; Grandchildren Leah E. Pluchino of Manchester, CT, and Jake W. Pluchino of East Haven, CT; brother Wayne F. Pierce and wife Sue Pierce of Phoenix, AZ; sister Sylvia J. Gates and husband Arthur Gates of Perkinsville, VT and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the nurses, physicians, and staff of Atrium Health Pineville, Hospital North Carolina, and her family and friends for their unwavering compassionate and supportive care that was provided. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Noon at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Lancaster.
