It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Earl Cardinal, aged 89, who departed this world on January 23, 2025. Earl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, whose warmth, kindness, and wisdom touched many lives.
Earl was born on February 8, 1935, in Middletown, Indiana, and grew up in Vincennes, Indiana, and Adrian, Michigan. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Engineering, he embarked on a successful career in the paper industry.
Earl was a dedicated engineer at NCR (National Cash Register Company), where he was instrumental in opening paper plants across the country. His work ethic and expertise left a lasting impact on the industry and those he worked with.
In 1961, Earl married Lois Cochran, with whom he shared over five decades of a loving and enduring partnership. Together, they raised three children: Rick, Stephanie, and Jennifer, who meant the world to him. Earl took immense pride in raising a family, always ensuring his loved ones felt supported and cherished.
Earl was a man of great integrity and determination. He enjoyed reading, taking care of his dog Reilly, and rooting for his favorite sports teams after his retirement. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children Rick and Jennifer, his grandchildren Zac and Tiffany, and his great-grandson Devon. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Lois, daughter Stephanie, brothers Paul and Carl, and his sisters Carole, Bertha, and Maxine.
Earl Cardinal's presence brought joy and inspiration to many. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on through his family and friends.
