Earl Patton "Pat" Simpson

Mr. Earl Patton "Pat" Simpson, 78, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011 at his residence. A native of Edgemoor, SC Pat was a son of the late James and Janie Simpson. Born on October 11, 1932 he was a veteran of the United States Air Force, member of Harmony Baptist Church, and an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was retired from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing and the Catawba Nuclear Station where he served for many years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Jim Simpson and one sister Mary Nichols. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years Phyllis Newell Simpson; two daughters Kelly Johnson and her husband Mike of Lancaster, Patti Evans and her husband Mike of Pageland; two brothers Bill and Jerry and his wife Judy Simpson both of Edgemoor; three sisters Nancy Bailey and her husband Wade, Gale Jerolmon and her husband David, Jennie Simpson, and sister-in-law Louise Simpson all of Edgemoor; two grandchildren Courtney Johnson of Lancaster, and Reagan Evans of Pageland. A service to celebrate the life of Pat will be held Wednesday at 11am at Harmony Baptist Church with Revs. Woody Oliver and Bob Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 5403 Harmony Baptist Church Rd, Edgemoor, SC 29712 or to Interim Hospice, 154 Amendment Ave, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
