Edgar Edward Thielker

Mr. Edgar Edward Thielker, age 92 passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Wellmore of Tega Cay, SC. Born in St. Louis, MO, son of the late Herman and Doretta (Boester) Thielker with late twin sister, two brothers, and two sisters. He was married to Joyce Thielker (Cregor) for 68 years. They had 3 children - Jeffrey Thielker (Joan), Curtis Thielker (Joanne), and Sheri Bojanowski (John). He had 7 grandchildren- Jaefen Thielker (Heather), Matthew Thielker (Jennifer), Joshua Thielker, Trista Shigley (Brett), Jordan Thielker, Kyle Bojanowski, Elise Bojanowski and 6 great grandchildren- Jamie Thielker, Avery Thielker, Avia Thielker, Pierce Thielker, Cooper Shigley, Eva Shigley.
Mr. Thielker served in U. S. Army Air Force, then attended Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, MO, and graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He was in Sigma Nu Fraternity, and awarded several competitive swimming metals. After graduation, he was employed in engineering in Milwaukee, WI, and later moved with his wife to Wilmington DE and worked for the Elastomers Division of the DuPont Co. in engineering management for 37 years. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and DuPont Country Club. After retirement, he worked as a guide for Hagley Museum for over 20 years.
Ed was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him.
