Edith Ella Blessing

Edith Blessing, age 92, of Tega Cay, SC passed away on Sunday July 14, 2019 at Atrium Hospital in Pineville, NC. She has entered into the loving arms of her Savior. Edith was preceded in death by her loving husband Heinz and had enjoyed 68 years of marriage. She was born in northern Bavaria, Germany and came to the US with Heinz in 1950. She had lived in Warsaw, IN and worked at Zimmer / Bristol Myers Squibb before retiring to Tega Cay in 1992. Three sons Martin (Michele) of Fort Wayne IN, Rainer (Tammy) of Tega Cay, and Ralph (Beth) of Downers Grove, IL survive her. She cherished her six grand children (Paul, Jonathan, Scott, Sarah, Brian, and Mark). She had one niece Angelika Gohring in Stuttgart Germany.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1225 E. Morehead St., Charlotte, NC 28204 at 2 PM on Wednesday July 17 with visitation before at 1:30 and reception following. Interment will be at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery in Fort Wayne, IN at 1 PM on Saturday July 20. Memorials may be made in her honor to the Ascension Soup Kitchen ministry which she and Heinz had assisted. The family appreciates the care provided at Westminster in Rock Hill and also from her kind companion Michelle Gugal.
