Edith Osborne Gregory

September 14, 1930 — June 30, 2017

Fort Mill - Mrs. Edith Osborne Gregory, 86, took her last earthy breath and entered her heavenly home on Friday, June 30, 2017.

Edith was a life long resident of Fort Mill and a member of the Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, where she served faithfully for 65 years as a Sunday School teacher, church treasurer and board member. Edith worked in the mill for Springs Industries for 20 years. She left the mill and went on to work in the accounting department at Duff Norton Industries for 27 years before retiring. Edith realized retirement was not for her, and she returned to work as the accountant at Cindy's Flowers for 14 years full time, followed by many more years working part-time.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest JT Gregory; her parents Zeb and Lula Osborne; a brother, Billy Osborne; a sister, Marie Steen; and her best friend, Ruth Fite.

Edith leaves behind a daughter, Deborah Jean Gregory Deese (James) of Fort Mill; a son, Doyle Gregory (Susan) of Richburg; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother.

The family will receive friends 5 - 6 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2017, at Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene. A homegoing service will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Joshua Fite officiating.

In lieu of flower Edith would like for donations to be made to the missionary fund at Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, 109 Harris Street, Fort Mill, SC 29715 in her memory.

As she closed her eyes in this world, Edith opened them on the other side in glory. She will be missed but we find comfort in knowing we will see her again some day!

Whitesell Funeral Home is serving the family.
