Clover – Mrs. Edna McCarter Watts, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Wayne T Patrick Hospice House.
A native of York County, Mrs. Watts was a daughter of the late Barber Finley McCarter and Flossie Sipe McCarter. She owned and operated her own beauty shop for many years out of her home. She was a member of Clover ARP Church for 57 years where she was very active in the ladies circles. She enjoyed attending the Clover Senior Center playing Bingo and she was known around the center for her baking. She loved reading and doing word search puzzles. She loved talking with her friends over the telephone and visiting with them.
Surviving are her daughter Hope Phillips and her husband, Robert; three grandchildren, Amanda Bejin, Brian Thomason, and Olivia Phillips; a great-grandson, Jayson Bejin; three brothers, Andy McCarter, James McCarter, Joe McCarter; and two sisters, Annie Mae McDaniel and Mandy Mullis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Henry Edward Watts; two sons, Ken Watts and Nelson Watts; four brothers, Floyd “Duke” McCarter, Ernest McCarter, R.H. McCarter and Harold McCarter; and two sisters Louise Harvell and Sue Mullis.
