Edward Luke Breaux, Jr., 98, of 4655 Percival Road, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill. A native of Morgan City, LA, Mr. Breaux was born April 25, 1912 a son of the late Edward Luke Breaux, Sr. and the late Theresa Babin Breaux. He was owner and operator of Ed Breaux Poultry Farm and member of St Anne's Catholic Church. He was a WWII Marine Veteran of Iwo Jima and was one the first nineteen men to land in Japan. Mr. Breaux was preceded in death by his wife Selma Boudreaux Breaux and daughter Delores B. Poche. Surviving are his daughters Janice B. Moore and husband Charles of Chester and Janet B Sorensen and husband George of Taylorsville, NC; a son-in-law Leon Poche of Crowley, LA; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. A Rosary will be at 3:00pm Sunday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home after which the family will recieve friends until 5:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11:00am at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Father McDevitt officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
