Edward M. Dawson

Mr. Edward M. Dawson, 89, Passed away Monday December 6, 2009 at Piedmont Medical Center with his family at this bedside. The son of the Curtis Bryant and Anna Burks Dawson, Mr. Dawson was born January 24, 1920 in Big Island, Va., Mr. Dawson was transferred to Rock Hill, SC in 1948 by the Celanese Company, Having retired after 42 years of service. He was also a member of The Elks Club or Rock Hill Lodge 1318 for 54 years. Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Louise. Surving are his daughters and their husbands, Ann and Donnie Bechtler of Edgemoor and Sharon and Melvin Godfrey of McConnells, four Grandchildren and their spouses, Bryan Bechtler(Pattie), Curt Belchler, Tina Turesdale (mike) and Wayne Gedfrey, six great grandchildren, Mitchell Bechtler, Brandon Bechtler, Eric Settlemyer, Shay Crawford(Daniel) of Ft. Hood, TX. Rylan Godfrey, and Skyeler Godfrey and one great great grandchild, Bayleigh Settlemyer. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, December 9,2009 at the Bass Funeral Home. The family suggest that memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice. Burial will be private. The family of Mr. Edward M. Dawson has entrusted Bass Funeral Home with his care.
