Eddy West, 21 went to be with our Father in heaven on Tuesday April 29th in the early evening hours at home. His body died at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC just before midnight. Eddy was a talented musician, smart as a whip, full of love and compassion, stubborn as a mule with a tormented soul. He excelled in all he did. His musical skills were phenomenal. Ed was a member of the South Pointe High School Concert Choir, South Carolina State Choir and a member of Tri M music society. He could pick up any instrument and learn it in a day though his specialty was guitar. Ed was a leader of worship for RAW a youth group at Christ the King Church, Charlotte, NC. He played contemporary music at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, York, SC. Ed participated in many South Pointe HS dramas, played lead roles in school and community theatre productions and was a member of the Thespian Honor Society. He was called Sea Biscuit at Boys State of South Carolina, received scholarships, and excelled in academia. He was very kind and compassionate. Eddy loved the outdoors and the Carolina Gamecocks. Eddy is survived by his father Edward Neil West, his mother Tammy Sue West, 2 sisters Kimberly Loraine Davidson, Amber Dawn West and a brother John West. We believe the shell of his body is empty; his light is with our Lord Jesus. The family will celebrate his life with a memorial service at our home (431 Rockwell Circle, Rock Hill) on Saturday May 10th at 11:00am. All are welcome. This day is a day to mend fences, to move forward living each day to its fullest. We will cherish the memories and express our love through laughter and tears.
