Loving husband of Carlene (nee Kausal) Witowski

Beloved father of Wendy (James) Warder, Sandra Manzari, and Daniel (Sheilia) Witowski Thurmon

Loving grandfather of Clayton (Susie) and Claire, Simone and Ruby, Eddie and Maggie

Cherished brother of Elaine (Richard) Dynis, and the late Genevieve “Ginger” (Rodger) Lambert

Fond Uncle of many nieces and nephews

Beloved Cousin and Treasured Friend to many

Ed attended St. John of God grade school and graduated from St. Rita High School, where he remained involved throughout his life.

Ed was active in the St. Turibius Church in Chicago for many years, serving as a devoted parishioner, Commentator, and vocalist.

He worked for the Chicago Fire Department from 1973, finishing up his career as an Engineer in 2003.  He was a longtime member of the C.F.D.’s Brotherhood of the Barrel, International Association of Fire Fighters Union Local 2, and the Gaelic Fire Brigade.

Ed had many interests and enjoyed his retirement years traveling with Carlene, grooming and beautifying the trails behind their home at the Fairway Club, and building bonfires for friends and neighbors to gather around and enjoy.

He was a loyal fan of the Chicago White Sox, active in his community, and enjoyed his bus trips to various casinos, always stating that he was a “conservative gambler”.

He was proud to be a staunch PATRIOT who loved his Country, the American Flag and the words IN GOD WE TRUST
