Elijah Peoples Sr.

Elijah Peoples, Sr, 89, of Fort Mill, SC fell asleep in death at home Friday, February 25, 2022. Elijah (also called “Bob or Bobby”) was born on October 29, 1932 in York County, SC to the late Alfred C. Peoples, Sr and Essie R. Peoples.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julia Rembert; sisters, Catherine Williams and Anniebell Robinson; brothers, Eddie Neal and Benny Peoples, Sr. Brother Peoples was baptized July 10, 1970 and remained faithful to Jehovah God until the time he fell asleep in death. He enjoyed participating in the ministry, helping with building/maintenance projects and willingly came to the aid of those in need. As a youth he worked as a “sharecropper” with this family which limited his formal education, yet he qualified to serve as a ministerial servant, willingly accepted and fulfilled Theocratic Ministry School/Service Meeting assignments to the best of his ability. Even as his health declined, he would often represent the congregation in heartfelt prayer as his circumstances permitted. He had a quiet and mild spirit, was a man of few words, worked hard to care for his family, enjoyed vegetable gardening, eating delicious food, quick-witted with a sense of humor and was well respected by those who had to pleasure of knowing him. Elijah is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lucinda M. Peoples; sisters, Mary Lampkin of Pineville, NC and Ethel Massey of Charlotte, NC; brother, Alfred Peoples, Jr of Fort Mill, SC; children: Bobby Peoples (Wanda), Willie Peoples (Joyce), Annie Peoples and Frances Davis of Charlotte, NC; Cynthia Peoples, Ricky Miller (Edry “Ed-ree”) and Myra Foster of Lancaster, SC; Robin Ford, Frank Spratt (Edith), Anthony Peoples, Sr and Elijah Peoples, Jr (Nancy) of Rock Hill, SC. Along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and spiritual family.
