Elizabeth Martha Hamilton

October 21, 1935 — December 26, 2020

Elizabeth Martha Hamilton, “Bonnie”, 85 of Fort Mill, SC and formerly of Berks County, PA, entered into rest Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC.

She was born October 21, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Martha Fredericks Printz. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Printz.

As the oldest child growing up on a farm in East Rockhill Township, PA, she learned early the importance of working hard and helped raise her siblings.  Her love of animals grew too.   Besides raising farm animals, Bonnie loved to care for and ride horses (and was still riding a horse on her 80th birthday at Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, SC).

Her second home was in the kitchen.  She had a long career working in restaurants, head of the high school cafeteria in Wyomissing, PA, and food services director for a children’s home in Womelsdorf, PA.

But everyone who knew Bonnie, knew that she loved reading the most.   If she wasn’t cooking or baking, she was engulfed in a book.  Not a single day went by without the love of reading books.

Her caring soul is survived by two sisters, Nancy Baith of Sellersville, PA and Carolyn Dan of Wailuku, HI; three sons, Edward Otto and wife Anna of Nathrop, CO, Peter Hamilton and wife Kathy of Fort Mill, SC, Lucas Hamilton and wife Kathy of Malvern, PA; and 6 grandchildren, Alex Otto, Andrew Otto, Matthew Hamilton, Katelyn Truba, Alec Hamilton, and Benjamin Hamilton; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of life service will be held by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) @ https://secure.aspca.org
