ROCK HILL - Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Whitesell Simpson, of 552 E. Robertson Rd., died Wednesday, July 13, at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, at Inspiration Baptist Church, with Rev. Roland Dry officiating. Burial will be in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
A native of Rock Hill, Libby was the daughter of the late Arthur C. Whitesell Sr and the late Mae Ussery Whitesell. She was also the widow of the late William N. "Bill" Simpson. She was retired after 35 years of employment from the Celanese Corp. of Rock Hill. She was also a member of Inspiration Baptist Church. Libby enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts, and was a master porcelain doll maker, having made several for family and friends. A member of Inspiration Baptist Church, Libby loved going to the old Drive Inns years ago to watch the movies and later enjoyed watching the new animated movies. She was loved by her family and will be remembered and missed by many,
She is survived by her son, William "Billy" Simpson Jr.; her brother, Robert "Bob" Whitesell; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Libby is preceded in death by her brother, Arthur C. Whitesell Jr. .
