Ellie Franklin Simpson, Sr.

Mr. Ellie Franklin Simpson, Sr., 98, of Rock Hill passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010. A native of Chester County Mr. Simpson was a son of the late William and Frances Simpson. Born on October 16, 1912 he was the owner and operator of a radio and TV repair shop. He was the oldest member of Harmony Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two wives Mrs. Martha Simpson and Mrs. Pearl Simpson; his brothers Edgar, Henry, Brice, and Johnnie Simpson all of York and Chester Counties; a son Ellie "Frank" Simpson, Jr.; and a great-grandson Brandon Farley. Surviving are a daughter Martha Odom (Colin) of Rock Hill; four grandchildren Christie Farley (Don), Spanky Odom, Renee Lefler (Billy) all of Rock Hill, and Scott Odom (Sara) of Windsor, SC; seven great-grandchildren Dylan Love, Ellie Farley, Haley, Seth, and Wyatt Lefler, and Caleb and Saige Odom; as well as a daughter-in-law Betty Simpson. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Simpson will be held Tuesday at 4:00pm in Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the church. Memorials may be made in honor of Mr. Simpson to Harmony Baptist Church, 5403 Harmony Church Rd., Edgemoor, SC 29712 or to Interim Hospice, 154 Amendment Ave., Ste 102 , Rock Hill, SC 29732.
