Elsie Mae Jordan

June 5, 1921 — July 24, 2016

Elsie Mae Jordan, a long-time resident of Satellite Beach, FL, died Sunday the 24th of July. She was born on Sunday morning June 5, 1921 to Viola (Deas) and Forrest Blankenship in Rock Hill, S.C., where she grew up and served as secretary at the First Baptist Church Rock Hill. Married to Lt. John Avery Jordan (USAF) on November 3, 1945, they started their lives together traveling from duty station to duty station, finally settling in Satellite Beach, FL in 1971. Elsie was a member and Sunday School teacher at 1st Baptist Church Merritt Island. She also enjoyed tennis, aerobics, gardening, sewing, baking and most of all family. She was indeed a sweet lady and is now at home with her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her husband John Avery Jordan; daughter Carolyn Mason; son Scott Jordan (Tricia); grandchildren Christina Corwin (Troy), Joshua Mason (Allison), Sarah Hubbard (Zach), Erick Mann (Brandy); and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son John F. Jordan (Gloria). A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30th, at 3PM at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US1, Rockledge, Fl 32955.
