Emmalou "Lucy" Baker Taylor, 65, was born in Pikeville,Ky., on June, 26, 1948. She entered heaven's gates on August, 10, 2013 to be reunited with her loving husband, Noy Taylor. Lucy was a loving mother of 3, grandmother of 5, and great-grandmother of 2. She loved to spend time with her family and animals. Lucy liked fresh vegetables and loved to plant a garden, every year. She was an avid NASCAR and football fan and loved to watch her favorite teams on Sunday afternoons.
After the loss of her husband she went back to school and received her diploma as a unit secretary, as well as a nursing assistant. She was very happy with her accomplishments.
One of the funniest moments remembered by her brother, Tony, was when he, his wife and parents were traveling to South Carolina. They stopped in Wise, VA to visit. Tony had a video camera and started videotaping Lucy with her dad. She said, "Hey I've never been videotaped before, dad let me hug your neck!" She then turned around real quick to say, "Tony, did you get that?"
Her Brother, Jerry, remembers the time they were in high school and decided to start talking like Indians. She was asked a question by her teacher and she replied," Me No-Noum answer!"
She is survived by three sons, Chris Taylor, Travis Taylor and Warren Taylor; four brothers, Tony Baker, Jerry Baker, John Baker, and Bob Baker; two sisters, Ann Wilkins and Pam Baker; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Rabideau.
Whitesell Funeral Home is serving the family.
